Healthy weekly shopping list ideas!

Love this title already healthy weekly shopping list ideas because this is something we all spent a lot of time on unconsciously or consciously.

We all know the feeling every week when we’re about to go to the grocery shop. It’s always difficult to decide on what to eat that next week. Let’s see if I can help you with this healthy weekly shopping list ideas blog.

In our household, we always have a healthy weekly shopping list, it’s a must, and again because it’s healthy it doesn’t need to be expensive at all. It just gives such a good feeling eating healthy and knowing you saved so much money instead of spending it on expensive lunches.

So let’s crack on, not too much chit chat and let me guide you through this simple healthy weekly shopping list ideas blog?

Where to start?

Back to the pen and paper or an online app to create a shopping list. Whatever you do always go to the shop prepared with a shopping list.

It saves you a lot of money and prevents you from buying things you don’t need at all.

Example of our personal household shopping list basics we always buy:

Vegetables:

Broccoli

Celery

Carrots

Tomatoes

Cucumber

Fruit:

Oranges

Apples

Bananas

Grapes

Protein:

Animal or non animal protein like:

Chicken

Fish

Canned chickpeas or kidney beans (water based)

Carbs like:

Brown rice or pasta

Whole wheat pita

Dark Ryvita crackers

Unsalted mix nuts

Water

Cheese

Honey

You can buy all of this for not that much money we spend like around £35/40 a week and that for 2 adults and a baby and I eat 4/5 times every single day

Cooking twice a week

A great tip: for Monday lunch we always have leftovers from the weekend and on Monday we cook for Tuesday and Wednesday. And Wednesday we cook for Thursday and Friday.

And then its weekend again and the cycle repeats?

Tip #1

If you’re on a really tight budget instead of animal protein which can be a lot more expensive I would suggest buying a things like a canned beans or kidney beans so you still get a lot of protein in.

Where you would buy meat for £3 or more you can buy canned beans, chickpeas for just a couple of cents.

Tip #2

If you know you’re a sweet tooth, instead of buying  a 4 pack snickers just buy 1 and try to eat it once a week, that’s it. Or if you are really struggling with it, don’t buy any sweets at all in your house.

Did you know that?

To stay healthy and fit exercise only contributes 20% and healthy food 80% didn’t knew that huh, now you know?
